school workshops
Foundation to Year 12
Bring the ocean into the classroom.
Marine science made current, interactive and actually exciting.
Blue by Carey workshops connect curriculum-aligned science with the marine world students can see, experience and explore for themselves.
Designed for Foundation through Year 12, each workshop can be tailored to the year level, curriculum focus and needs of your students.
And importantly:
Less prep for teachers. More curiosity from students.

Tell It Like a Scientist
“Connection is where curiosity begins — and care follows.”
Bringing the ocean into the classroom without the death-by-PowerPoint.
Blue by Carey workshops connect students with the ocean that’s right on their doorstep.
Through hands-on activities, local stories and real-world science, students are introduced to the Great Southern Reef, South Australia’s marine environments and the challenges facing our coastline in a way that feels relevant, engaging and easy to understand.
These aren’t lectures. They’re conversations.
Students are encouraged to ask questions, get curious, explore ideas and understand that science isn’t about knowing everything — it’s about being willing to keep learning.
Workshops can be aligned with the Australian Curriculum from Foundation through to Year 12, or tailored around a particular topic your students are curious about.
Sessions can include:
The Great Southern Reef
Marine habitats and ecosystems
Food chains and food webs
Marine adaptations
South Australia’s coastline and geology
Ocean and climate change
Cuttlefish
Whales
Australian sea lions
Marine parks and fishing
Science communication
Careers in marine science
Ocean connection and wellbeing
From younger students meeting the ocean for the first time to senior students exploring complex environmental issues, each session is designed to make science feel local, approachable and exciting.
